He was born in Montour Falls, NY on May 26, 1956, the son of the late Robert Lewis Carman and Laura Alice (Hoffman) Dean.

Rob loved every moment he spent with his beautiful grandchildren, Bryson, Alec, Kathleen, Sarah, Ellie, Alexis, Brianna, Benjamin and Evan.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Edward (Johanna), Sally Logue (Robert), James, Sharon, Richard (Ellen) and Stanley (Darlene).
He enjoyed volunteering his time to the Kiwanis Club and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed travel and adventure to new places, collecting sea glass, minerals, and rare bottles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Habitat for Humanity International, 121 Habitat St., Americus, GA 31709-3498.
