Rolland is survived by his wife of 63 years, Laura, son, William, daughter, Lillian (Gene) Kienzle, son, Kenneth (Linda), all of Rapid City; five grandchildren, Jeff (Kim) Olson, Arizona, Jamie (Karin) Kienzle and Shelly Kienzle, both Rapid City, Mike (Becky) Willard, Sturgis, and Melissa (Chris) Spielmann, Sioux Falls; and 10 great-grandchildren. When anyone would tell her to slow down, she would say, "If I die doing things on the ranch, I will die happy. Ida is survived by children, Idamae Goff, Champlin, MN, Randy (Diane) Goff, Madison, SD, Larry Goff, Box Elder, SD, Adam Goff, Box Elder, SD, June (Rex) Eagon, Rhame, ND, Guy Goff, Springfield, SD, Hope (Mike) Mastel, Marmarth, ND, and Glen (Margie) Tryon, Rapid City, SD; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Lee Stenstron, Carl Vacha, Amanda Vacha, Lisa Sanchez-Fisher, Rhonda Reiswig, Sara, April, Miranda Goff, Anna Goff, Chuck Goff, Ashley Goff, Dillon Eagon, Kalorada Eagon, Josie (Kasey) Tharp, Chance Mastel, Seth (Mattie) Mastel, Taylor, Taton, and Myah Tryon; her great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In 1954, he married Laura Price and they had 3 children. Rolland enjoyed fishing, haying, and tending his cattle.
Rolland William Willard, 91, of Rapid City, passed away peacefully at the Dept.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, from to p.m. He attended the 4 Mile rural school for 8 years and made it through 8 weeks of high school before he and a friend decided to quit and walked the 25 miles home to the ranch.
After quitting school, Ed found work at the Homestake Gold Mine and Ft. He did find work at a farm in Vale, where he took a shine to the farmers daughter. Ed continued on the ranch with the help of his grandson, Dustin, until 2001.
He tried to get out to the state dart tournaments every year. Randy, 57, Madison, died at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls on February 16, 2018.
He was talking about buying bulls and calving right up until the time he passed away. Ed, 93, of Sturgis, SD, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, in Sturgis, SD.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Mailloux, Vale, SD; grandsons, Dayne Mailloux, and Dustin (Melissa) Mailloux, both of Rapid City, SD; granddaughter, Amanda (Scott) Sheeler, Vale, SD; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Nathan Mailloux, Rapid City, SD, Braylee and Keion Freytag, Vale, SD, and Lainey Sheeler and step great-granddaughter, Lexie Sheeler, Vale, SD; brother, John Poss, Gainesville, FL; sisters, Mary Baker, Spearfish, SD, and Lois Halbrook, Red Bluff, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He and Leah Pflaumer were married December 29, 1948. Then because of aches and pains, Ed got a hired man and moved into the townhouse he had built.
It was very difficult for him to move to Sturgis and leave the ranch that was his entire life.
